Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI app to Ampliphi

Ask an AI assistant about your properties (your rates, competitors, local events, occupancy and pickup) and it answers from your live Ampliphi data. Apps connect through MCP (Model Context Protocol), the open standard Claude and ChatGPT use for connectors. You sign in with your Ampliphi account; there is no API key to copy.

Server URL

https://api.getampliphi.com/mcp

Paste this into your AI app exactly as shown. The same address and steps are in Ampliphi under Settings → AI apps & connectors.

Before you start

  • An Ampliphi login of your own (owners and managers; not a shared demo account).
  • AI access turned on for your properties. If the app later says it can't see any properties, ask your Ampliphi contact.
  • An AI app that can add custom connectors: Claude on any plan (Team and Enterprise need an Owner to add it first), ChatGPT on a plan or workspace that allows custom MCP servers, Claude Code, or another MCP client.

Connect an app

Free, Pro or Max

  1. In Claude on the web or in the desktop app, open Customize → Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Ampliphi and paste the server URL. Leave Advanced settings empty: Claude registers itself, so there's no client ID or secret.
  4. Click Add, then Connect.
  5. Ampliphi opens in your browser. Sign in, check what Claude is asking for and click Allow. You're sent back to Claude.
  6. In a chat, open + → Connectors and make sure Ampliphi is on. Then ask something like “How do my rates compare with my competitors next weekend?”

On the Free plan you can add one custom connector.

Team or Enterprise

  1. An Owner adds Ampliphi once for the organization: Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom (choose Web if asked), paste the server URL and click Add.
  2. Each person then opens Customize → Connectors, finds Ampliphi (labelled Custom), clicks Connect and signs in with their own Ampliphi account.

How sign-in works

You never type a password or an API key into the AI app.

  1. The app asks Ampliphi how to sign in and registers itself.
  2. Your browser opens Ampliphi's approval page. If you aren't signed in, you sign in as usual. The page shows which app is asking and where you'll be sent back to (claude.ai, chatgpt.com, or your own computer for Claude Code). If it isn't the app you just added, click Cancel.
  3. Choose what to allow: reading your data. Then click Allow.
  4. Ampliphi gives the app a key that lasts an hour and renews itself while you use it. After 7 days without use, the app asks you to sign in again. Ampliphi keeps only a fingerprint of each key, never the key.

The approval page works once, for 10 minutes, and only in the browser where you started connecting. A copy of the link opened anywhere else is refused. Don't approve a request you didn't start yourself. An admin viewing your account and shared demo accounts can't approve a connection.

What an app can see

Only the properties on your own Ampliphi account that have AI access turned on, and nothing from other accounts. Every request is checked again against your account, so a change to your access applies at once.

  • Every plan: property details, competitor rates and rate comparisons, your competitive set, local events and the help center.
  • Ampliphi Standard adds: price suggestions, current rates, occupancy, on the books, pickup, ADR, RevPAR and revenue, the weekly briefing, recent publishes and rate push status.

Amounts are in each property's currency. An app only reads: it can’t publish rates or change settings.

Limits

  • Up to 60 requests a minute and 5 at a time for each person.
  • Ask about a month of dates or less at a time; very long answers are shortened.
  • A request that takes longer than about a minute stops.

Disconnect

Open Settings → AI apps & connectors in Ampliphi and click Disconnect. The app's next request is refused. The same list shows each connected app's recent activity (which data it asked for, never your questions).

Changing your Ampliphi password disconnects every AI app. Removing the connector in Claude or ChatGPT doesn't revoke its access in Ampliphi, so disconnect it in Ampliphi as well.

Troubleshooting

“Connecting AI apps isn't enabled for your account yet.”

Ask your Ampliphi contact to turn it on for you.

The app says it couldn't connect or reach the server.

Check that the URL is exactly the server URL above, ending in /mcp, with no spaces. Then remove the connector and add it again.

“This only works in the browser where you started connecting.”

Ampliphi opened in a different browser or profile from the one that started connecting, for example after signing in from an emailed link. Go back to the AI app, connect again and finish in the browser that opens.

Ampliphi says the request has expired or was already used.

Start again from the app: each approval link works once, for 10 minutes.

The app can't see any properties.

AI access isn't on for your properties yet. Ask your Ampliphi contact.

It worked, then stopped.

Connect again from the app. This happens after 7 days without use, after a password change, or when the app was disconnected in Settings.

“Hotel … was not found or isn't available to you.”

The app has to use the property code from its list of your properties, not a number. Asking it to “list my properties first” usually fixes this. Otherwise the property isn't on your account or doesn't have AI access yet.

For developers

MCP endpointhttps://api.getampliphi.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP): POST only, JSON responses, stateless (GET answers 405).
DiscoveryAn unauthenticated request gets 401 with WWW-Authenticate: Bearer resource_metadata="https://api.getampliphi.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp". The same document is at /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource; authorization server metadata at /.well-known/oauth-authorization-server.
AuthorizationOAuth 2.1 authorization code with PKCE (S256 only). Dynamic client registration at /register (public clients: token_endpoint_auth_method: none); revocation at /revoke. The consent page answers only the browser that opened /authorize (an HttpOnly cookie), so send the user's browser there rather than a copied consent link.
Redirect URIshttps://claude.ai/api/mcp/auth_callback, https://claude.com/api/mcp/auth_callback, https://chatgpt.com/connector_platform_oauth_redirect, https://chatgpt.com/connector/oauth/{id}, and loopback http (localhost, 127.0.0.1, [::1]) on any port. Nothing else registers.
Scopesampliphi.read (always granted).
TokensOpaque. Access tokens last 1 hour; refresh tokens 7 days and rotate. Reusing an old refresh token or code revokes the connection.
ToolsEvery tool takes a string hotel_id (the property code); call list_my_hotels first. ampliphi_tool_guide explains the rest.
